but i still dont buy that excuse. Him missing that final layup, that was him gassed, he couldnt get any elevation. but the ft…..thibs should make him run 5 miles then shoot freethrows, while he plays some ramstein blaring over the berto pa system
law of averages could have caught up with him during the wizards game

Had to pretty much do everything for his team, with turf/sprained toe. If Rip made a couple more shots (4-16!!), we’d have a W. Defense locked down the Heat to the tune of 41 second half points. This rivalry is legit and the Bulls are definitely on the same level as the Heat. This is gonna be a helluva playoff series.
even half healthy deng would have been terrific help. Thibs is probably giving him a hug and crying into his shoulder right now “I missed you ::tear::”
remember when we fired skiles and had “he who shall not be named” yea…just think about that for a minute, and our bulls team really wasnt a bunch of nincompoops either
Except they're both too slow to put a body on any of those guys.
Tough guy talk is bullshit. No one on Chicago is afraid of these guys. Wade can mean mug all he wants, bottom line is he hasn’t had a good game against Chicago in a year.
And god damn all the injuries we had. The Heat aren’t as good as say…ESPN makes them out to be. We didn’t play well, they were getting a lot of easy looks and were making them, we had turnover issues, Rose foul trouble, Deng not playing and WE STILL MADE IT CLOSE!!! It’s just one game, we’ll be back, no doubt. I just hope Deng’s injury isn’t bad. I thought Noah played well, Ronnie had some nice moments Rose was good, but wasn’t in great rhythm due to the fouls, but Boozer has to step up. He can’t have patches of 3 or 4 bad games with only one or half a good game in between, he has to play better defense and fight for the ball once in a while. Where is the passion???
Yeah, I mean come on, I get it: people don't like Boozer. But he had huge hustle at the end when it mattered, hit a clutch shot
If you’re going to give anybody the Stinky Gym Sock Stinky Player Of The Game Award…that one has to go to Rip. Sorry, 4-16, 5 TOs, bad decisions…wasn’t his day.
I'll give him that, for the first 3 3/4's of the game anyway.
But that is some terrible offensive production in a game where we needed to score. Totally stopped us cold too much there in the second half.
Doesn’t matter much to me either way, since both needed to be better, but I find it comical as to amount of Boozer hate today, when Rip was absolutely terrible in the second half.
to lose a game in the last plays of the game, that you expected you’d prob lose… the guys fought harder than i anticipated which made this even more of a let down.
but yeah, i mean… i hope that our next matchup with them, we are at fuller strength than this.
that’s a lot easier to rebound off of because they still played a really good game without 2 of the main guys. If the Bulls got blown out the initial reaction would be of less appointment’s but it linger into the oncoming week.
you know i mgiht get ripped for saying this, but sometimes even the great teams need to lsoe games liek these
i wanted this win badly too, but when i think bout it, it actually might help rose and company in the longrun. They need to be reminded what it will take to beat the heat.
I mean, yes he has LOADS of experience in big games, big matchups, but I think when he played on the Pistons, everyone looked at them as the sleepers or underdog teams, and now that he is with us, and everyone looks at us as one of the title contenders, he might have gotten one too many pregame jitters. I don’t know, maybe I am talking through my ass, but that migh be the case.
My thoughts on the game which I posted in the last thread
1) Rose can’t play the way he does for an entire 45 minutes, it’s just too much. He has to exert so much effort due to his size. Not saying he has to change, but with CJ playing, it’s completely different.
2) Korver and Boozer were worthless, the latter even worse than the former. Korver just gets exploited so badly. He is opposing DWade or LBJ and it never works well. Boozer just fucking sucks.
3) I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. If the game vs. the Heat is close in the 4th quarter, the Refs will do everything in their power to screw us. "Inadvertent whistle" my ass…
4) With Deng and CJ, it’s a completely different game. Deng is the cornerstone to our defense. His presence allows Ronnie to play with the bench mob. Miami would have been lucky to score 90 tonight with him playing.
Not worried. I think Boozer’s LuHawk kids would play better than him though.
Part of being a big man is imposing your will even when you arent producing. You at least turn heads. Boozer was an afterthought, missing wide open looks.
I think that actually helped the Bulls, as the ball went straight to Bosh, whom we would have had to foul. The jump ball at least gave the Bulls the chance to get ball back without fouling (even if the tip was illegally stolen)
Taj stopped going for the ball once the whistle blew, plus it seemed to me like the Ref was anticipating a foul...and we know which way that would have gone..
there was no decisive ruling on the court, so since the altercation is not about players but more about fairness, the ruling is each team can have one person who was on the court at the time of the incident do the jump ball. I think taj could have won it (maybe) and i really didnt get a look to see if the ball was really thrown with bias or not…and it sucks that they didnt bother showing it again either….
Like busting out a zone against Miami’s small unit. With Asik and Noah on the blocks and Gibson at the free throw line. Sure, the offense would have been clogged, but Miami would have trouble rebounding and getting inside.
calling us out on us tlaking about not having deng, so they suggest, “well we didnt have wade then….” cuz wade played a bad game…..right……in that case, we didnt have RIP either cuz he had a bad game, and we didnt have booz…..fuck never mind, thats probably as good as boozer gets in this series….
you need to space the floor and hit jumpshots vs Miami. One perimeter player that can’t hit the open J, they will trap you like hell. Rip can run around all he want but with them ignoring Brewer in the perimeter, he’ll get trapped all the time
Well, it's very simple: Drive, run into defender, force them to make contact, put up shot, get to line
It should be drilled into the Bulls’ heads that if you don’t have a play on the ball, you are going to need to be as straight as possible, and try to force them to alter their shot, instead of hacking. I’d can live with Bron and Wade putting up wild runners and bank shots of glass because I’ve seen them miss those, obviously no wide open lanes, but as inconsistent as they are on the line sometimes, you give them 40 free shots at the basket and even a blind squirrel will find a nut now and again.
Of course it doesn’t help with the amount of touch calls they get.
Of course he should but It doesn't really matter because he still has to play at some point
Hell even I’m exhausted with this Boozer crap. I don’t need any more discussion to prove the point that we have a 80 million dollar player that can’t be effective against the one team stopping us from a title. It’s the silliest bullshit I’ve ever see. Any conversation about what he does well against bad teams or a few rare timely shots he hits at the end of games is really moot. He doesn’t perform when needed most. Honestly, we’d be better off with Kurt Thomas on this team than Carlos Boozer.
The thing with only two out of the three Heat players playing well is not a mystery
These are high usage guys that need the ball in their hands to be effective. it’s why I still think the Heat are worse with Wade. Wade might help them on the break or whatever, but I feel a lot safer having him on the floor as a release valve for lebron than a guy that can catch and shoot
is what makes them a great transition team and great defensive team, especially on the perimeter. Add in Wade’s ability to get to the foul line and play in the 4th and you now are talking about an all time great team.
because he always seems to make the best basketball play, he always gets that extra gear to make a move for a loose ball, a steal, or just draw a foul…..honest to god, i dont care what the numbers say for him or lebron, its wade that scares the hell out of me.
And the Heat just flop so well if they know they don’t have a shot because they know they’ll get a call. Most of the time, I think its anticipation calls. That’s why I get so worried when we try guarding Wade or Lebron on a fast break because all you have to do is touch them and they get an automatic foul.
the Heat when they go Chalmers, Miller, James, Bosh, Haslem. scares me more than when Wade is on the floor. He does however always seem to make a big 4th quarter play but that’s just his makeup as an x champion.
yea cuz he finishes sentences in that big ol head of his, heres what he actually finished that sentence with
LeBron: "Derrick Rose can go around anybody in this league, anybody in this world…Except me, yea….im the king….now im gonna go get me a burger…wheres curry at
Is ever since the decision on a jump ball on that play of the phantom whistle….it has yet to be brought up again. Had that call been against the Heat’s favor, that would be the #1 topic on ESPN tomorrow.
remember when derrick hit that reverse in the 1st qtr and got hit in the head? no call. then fucking norris cole gets a touch foul on a drive. that’s just fucked.
No worries guys, we'll win the next game vs the Heat.
I think with our full and healthy squad we can easily beat their full and healthy squad. We know what’s like to play them during the regular season and the playoffs, and I am sure Thibodeau will get the ready next time. Wizards are next=easy win.
dude has been getting inconsistent play time with his groin injuries and what not. I mean he hasnt practiced, got on a plane, was a game time decision and played…..thats just hard to do. He missed a shit load of shots he never normally would have….namely, the damn free throws, hes one of the best there is, and you only get better the longer you are in the league…but he missed some himself
he manned up and played, his shot wasn’t dropping but he didn’t let it effect his defense. I’m proud of him and i can confidently say that without him we would have done much worse.
without that 2nd shot creator, it will be tough to beat miami
after the initial trap, we don’t have a 2nd guy that can attack the basket. Rip is nice on pindowns, hitting the mid J, passing. But he is not an iso guy. Unless Brewer, Boozer hits their jumpshots, it will be a grind it out game.
The closest thing I saw was Taj putting it on the floor and attacking the rim
Rip is struggling because they are ignoring Brewer in the perimeter and trapping Drose and Rip. Pretty much how they ignored bogans and trapped Deng and Drose.
In order to beat them in a 7 game series, Deng needs to hit the corner 3, Boozer needs to hit that jumpshot to open up for Drose and Rip

Bulls should maybe run a layup drill a few times a week.
Because aside from Rose there is absolutely no one on this team who can convert close shots unless the stars align.
Ozzie Montana - January 29, 2012
Seriously
Hamilton, Noah, Brewer all blowing lay-ups. Gibson was good in close though.
chowder - January 29, 2012
missed lay ups
JustAnotherFan - January 29, 2012
ECF Game #2 last year all over again!
Where we were what, 0-10 to start and 2-16 at one point, a ton of those in close or put-back misses. Lay-up and tip drills for everyone!
Locust_Inferno_666 - January 29, 2012
Maybe Rose vs Heat is like what Pistons was to MJ
a huge wall he has to climb over before dynasty
trig - January 29, 2012
he will climb it and hes not alone
deng and rose are the combo that will take these fuckers down
Geo4MVP - January 29, 2012
except, rose aint no mj
and there is no scottie
piccolomair - January 29, 2012
Maybe not
but Deng’s a very solid all around player. And Joakim is better than anything the dynasty team ever had manning center.
NerdVernacular - January 29, 2012
Must admit I have the feeling we are the Pistons in that
JustAnotherFan - January 29, 2012
So, we have back to back championships on the way?

Locust_Inferno_666 - January 29, 2012
the only thing
that bothers me…..the rose missed free throw, haunting him since memphis days man……..
piccolomair - January 29, 2012
thing is he doesnt have the rep being a choker in the last min of the game
free throws liek this happens
Geo4MVP - January 29, 2012
he has become a great free throw shooter BECAUSE he hates that rep. It was a fluke caused by fatigue
Still have to hit them, but I’m completely confident he will hit them next time
Brigade17 - January 29, 2012
Yeah, couldn't believe he missed both.
I thought at worst he’s split em.

yeah, but the kid was worn out
fuck JLIII!! damn it! why did we drop Mike James!
Geo4MVP - January 29, 2012

piccolomair - January 29, 2012
thought he would miss 1 too
JustAnotherFan - January 29, 2012
me too
but its funny, when bron got fouled i thought he’d brick them like rose to.. eerie huh?
Belize - January 29, 2012
Nope. Thats more expected with James.
AerialAssault - January 29, 2012 via mobile
LeBron's FT% is only 67% this season in the clutch...
But it was 85% last season and 100% in last year’s playoffs.
Rose is 33% this season (pretty sure it’s like 1/3, though), 90% last season, and 87% in last year’s playoffs.
“More expected” is accurate, but not by much.
Alex Sonty - January 29, 2012
first one never had a chance
looked gassed from all the minutes.
Second one I thought was gonna fall but lipped off.
HawkeyeBoiler - January 29, 2012
maybe
but i still dont buy that excuse. Him missing that final layup, that was him gassed, he couldnt get any elevation. but the ft…..thibs should make him run 5 miles then shoot freethrows, while he plays some ramstein blaring over the berto pa system
piccolomair - January 29, 2012
well to say Rose should go 14/14 from the line doesnt stick with his average
he was bound to miss one if not both.
HawkeyeBoiler - January 29, 2012
he also had that 6-10 game last time.
I think his FT mechanics are a bit off.
Brigade17 - January 29, 2012
law of averages could have caught up with him during the wizards game
didnt have to be that exact moment…..bahh….im not blaming it on rose, its just the only thing that bothers me cuz it makes it harder for me to call out lebron on his missed fts,
piccolomair - January 29, 2012
You're doing it wrong...
He isn’t less likely to hit one after hitting 12 straight than he was to hit each of those 12. DUCY?
Alex Sonty - January 29, 2012
its the law of averages...cant deny them
Geo4MVP - January 29, 2012
Shooting tired free throws leads to bad mechanics.
dakoose - January 29, 2012
Just a fluke
It has no meaning except that as humans we like to find patterns even when they don’t exist. I hope Rose just forgets about it and moves on.
berzerkulous - January 29, 2012
theres one pattern i believe in
lebron cant do shit when the pressure is on.
piccolomair - January 29, 2012
If you attribute some higher meaning to it then it's your problem.
James said it in the postgame interview. Give both of them the FTs again in the same situation they’ll knock them down.
Ozzie Montana - January 29, 2012
Excactly. Except Lebron is naturally a worse FT shooter over all, hence it's more likely he would have still missed 1 of them.
berzerkulous - January 29, 2012
once they pulled up the 12-12 graphic
he never had a chance
pb&j - January 29, 2012
All thats going through my mind:
Can the playoffs just start already?
Rose1 - January 29, 2012
no, we need deng to healthy before the playoffs
Geo4MVP - January 29, 2012
Yea no crap
Its just the reg season feels completely irrelevant. I want us to kick these guys asses in the ECF.
Rose1 - January 29, 2012
that last minute took away from a great game.
no one came out looking good.
HawkeyeBoiler - January 29, 2012
I want to see Thibs get more technicals, for protecting his players from the refs
bluezman7 - January 29, 2012
Big ups to DRose for todays game.
Oh…get well Lu!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
dakoose - January 29, 2012
Lu would have limited James to 26 points this game
Geo4MVP - January 29, 2012
i would settle on letting lebron have 32
and just chipping in 4 of his own, but seriously deng was missed so much
piccolomair - January 29, 2012
He spreads the floor in a big way and when teams
center in on Rose, he’s deadly when he sneaks down the lane and gets open for driving layups. Bulls would have won with a healthy Deng.
dakoose - January 29, 2012
honestly
even half healthy deng would have been terrific help. Thibs is probably giving him a hug and crying into his shoulder right now “I missed you ::tear::”
piccolomair - January 29, 2012
I miss that giant wingspan.
Brewer is a tough guy but he can’t hang with elite forwards.
Ozzie Montana - January 29, 2012
He's much better suited to D-up DWade.
Though it’s not like Rip needed help, he did a pretty good job on Wade.
dakoose - January 29, 2012
Yeah I was really impressed with Rip's D, I thought beforehand that's where we would miss Bogans.
But Hamilton gives up no ground and doesn’t bite for the pump fakes. Aside from a few flops and nice passes Wade didn’t do shit.
Ozzie Montana - January 29, 2012
Yeah, Wade's biggets impact on the game
were fast break dunks and lobs to Lebron, and neither of those are really Rips fault. Now, going 4-16, on the other hand……..
dakoose - January 29, 2012
lol at van gundy saying the bulls miss bogans
i didn’t hear for what, 3 pt shooting?
obnoxious american - January 29, 2012
That was exactly what he was saying...
It was within a point of the Bulls lacking 3-point shooting.
Alex Sonty - January 29, 2012
Man I think brewer shoots the corner three better than Bogans
BREWER.
Prevenge - January 29, 2012

Hamilton’s d on Wade was definitely a positive surprise

Tough guy talk is bullshit. No one on Chicago is afraid of these guys. Wade can mean mug all he wants, bottom line is he hasn’t had a good game against Chicago in a year.
Ozzie Montana - January 29, 2012
So I ask the question again
Why did we keep JL3 over Mike James? At least James know how to run the PnR.
Saukrates - January 29, 2012
Who gives a shit? If they're a factor against Miami in a playoff series Bulls have bigger issues.
Ozzie Montana - January 29, 2012
Taj and Ronnie dont shrink away in big games
Boozer becomes Lucas IV in size
ChiTownBallz - January 29, 2012
I am extremely optimistic of our chances to take them down in the playoffs
We need a bench player who can create their own shot. I think we will get one before the playoffs
Brigade17 - January 29, 2012
Do we have any info on CJ's wrist?
Is it a serious injury and whatnot. Bad time to waive Mike James
windycitywarrior - January 29, 2012

RED_BULL - January 29, 2012
Not at all. We didn't play that well, Deng was out and we still came within a possession or two.
BullsFan22 - January 29, 2012
G'dam it Boozer.
BullsFan22 - January 29, 2012
boozer hit a couple huge shots at the end.
obnoxious american - January 29, 2012
Yeah, true. I guess that got lost in my rant, lol.
Seriously though, we need him to be like that in most games and the WHOLE game, if possible.
BullsFan22 - January 29, 2012
yeah,
miami has the team defense to neutralize him, there’s no doubt.
obnoxious american - January 29, 2012
agreed....but Boozer finally showed up at the end.
RED_BULL - January 29, 2012
If he plays at least average in the first three quarters it's a different fourth.
He can’t be a zero for 75% of a game against Miami.
Ozzie Montana - January 29, 2012
Boozer is a huge issue.
This team will have to go through Miami to win it all and Booz has proven that he can’t really perform against them. It’s very troublesome.
dakoose - January 29, 2012
If Taj Gibson isn't afraid to throw down in the paint then Boozer needs to step the fuck up.
Rose can’t deliver perfect feeds to him 8-9 times a game, at some point he needs to be able to create his own offense.
Ozzie Montana - January 29, 2012
I was impressed with the way Taj was taking it to the basket
he was fouled on one of those dunks
Basketball Smurf - January 29, 2012
Yeah, I mean come on, I get it: people don't like Boozer. But he had huge hustle at the end when it mattered, hit a clutch shot
If you’re going to give anybody the Stinky Gym Sock Stinky Player Of The Game Award…that one has to go to Rip. Sorry, 4-16, 5 TOs, bad decisions…wasn’t his day.
Locust_Inferno_666 - January 29, 2012
also D'd the fuck out of Wade
Boozer’s d was not so hot.
HawkeyeBoiler - January 29, 2012
Yeah, was about to say the same.
Rip couldn’t hit a shot, but he locked down Wade pretty good,
dakoose - January 29, 2012
I'll give him that, for the first 3 3/4's of the game anyway.
But that is some terrible offensive production in a game where we needed to score. Totally stopped us cold too much there in the second half.
Doesn’t matter much to me either way, since both needed to be better, but I find it comical as to amount of Boozer hate today, when Rip was absolutely terrible in the second half.
Locust_Inferno_666 - January 29, 2012
boozer also missed rip
on the last play for the layup. yeah rip had missed some.. but it was a better decision than giving it back to rose there. rip had a wide open lane.
Jaina - January 29, 2012
One big plus from this game...

Geo4MVP - January 29, 2012

Saukrates - January 29, 2012
Nope.
RED_BULL - January 29, 2012
yes, because he'd miss the flight to Washington.
HawkeyeBoiler - January 29, 2012
they've gotta fly to D.C. don't they? Otherwise I'd agree

no deng, no NBA caliber backup for rose, boozer being shit (this might not change), and rip shooting horribly….and we lost in the last 20 seconds.

that was when the bulls headed into the tunnel w/o shaking their hands (which i fully support) and they were waiting there for them.
anorexorcist - January 29, 2012
It was after the game...
But I took it as Wade saying, “You’re lucky, man. Really F’N lucky.”
Alex Sonty - January 29, 2012
i think it actually sucks more
to lose a game in the last plays of the game, that you expected you’d prob lose… the guys fought harder than i anticipated which made this even more of a let down.
but yeah, i mean… i hope that our next matchup with them, we are at fuller strength than this.
Jaina - January 29, 2012
It's one of those letdowns
that’s a lot easier to rebound off of because they still played a really good game without 2 of the main guys. If the Bulls got blown out the initial reaction would be of less appointment’s but it linger into the oncoming week.
windycitywarrior - January 29, 2012
you know i mgiht get ripped for saying this, but sometimes even the great teams need to lsoe games liek these
i wanted this win badly too, but when i think bout it, it actually might help rose and company in the longrun. They need to be reminded what it will take to beat the heat.
Geo4MVP - January 29, 2012
Well, TBH the 4 straight playoff loses last year were no different than tonight.
BullsFan22 - January 29, 2012
game 5 was a gigantic choke job by the bulls.
obnoxious american - January 29, 2012
yes, but this is the season, you have time to work on the mistakes you made in this game
playoffs, there isnt much time to make MAJOR adjustments.
Geo4MVP - January 29, 2012
We were closer to full strength then though
Today, well let’s count
1) Rose’s toe
2) No Deng
3) No CJ
4) Hamilton playing through injury
Brigade17 - January 29, 2012
Oh yeah, and Rip shooting 4-16 in 36 minutes? Not gonna cut it.
BullsFan22 - January 29, 2012
and 5 turnovers. He looked pretty bad.
Ozzie Montana - January 29, 2012
I think he had pressure going into the game.
BullsFan22 - January 29, 2012
But his shooting so far this season
makes me think it’s an aberration. I think he’ll be fine
dakoose - January 29, 2012
except hes 13/44 (30%) on the season against above average defenses.

AerialAssault - January 29, 2012 via mobile
Brigade17 - January 29, 2012
again, boozer hit two clutch shots at the end.
obnoxious american - January 29, 2012
After being a ghost for the first 44 minutes.
Part of being a big man is imposing your will even when you arent producing. You at least turn heads. Boozer was an afterthought, missing wide open looks.
Brigade17 - January 29, 2012
yeah, it's strange, he's started to back down some guys.
either he’s forgetting to try, or the bulls are utilizing him correctly.
obnoxious american - January 29, 2012
Regarding the Inadvertent Whistle
I think that actually helped the Bulls, as the ball went straight to Bosh, whom we would have had to foul. The jump ball at least gave the Bulls the chance to get ball back without fouling (even if the tip was illegally stolen)
chowder - January 29, 2012
Taj stopped going for the ball once the whistle blew, plus it seemed to me like the Ref was anticipating a foul...and we know which way that would have gone..
Brigade17 - January 29, 2012
i'm still not convinced wade didn't touch the ball out of bounds.
obnoxious american - January 29, 2012
hard to tell
his foot was in bounds when they zoomed in on it, but i don’t know whether he then stepped out before letting go
Jaina - January 29, 2012
yeah, that's where it's hard to tell.
but yeah, the whistle screwed everything up. guys stopped playing, who knows what would’ve happened.
obnoxious american - January 29, 2012
why in the fuck was Gibson jumping against LJ there anyway?
James was not near the play.
rick o'shay - January 29, 2012
on some garbage jump ball for no reason,
the teams pick who they want.
obnoxious american - January 29, 2012
its not really garbage
there was no decisive ruling on the court, so since the altercation is not about players but more about fairness, the ruling is each team can have one person who was on the court at the time of the incident do the jump ball. I think taj could have won it (maybe) and i really didnt get a look to see if the ball was really thrown with bias or not…and it sucks that they didnt bother showing it again either….
piccolomair - January 29, 2012
i meant what led up the the jump ball was garbage.
and the tip was crap, it totally leaned toward lebron.
obnoxious american - January 29, 2012
Boozer + Asik
Should play together on the 2nd squad.
wordtrey - January 29, 2012
when they were going small
We could have done a rose-Cj-Hamilton-Deng-Noah and torched them. Damn it injuries suck, I’m super confident about our team though.
You can tell the heat gave it their all and they needed refs, a tired rose, and no Luol to sneak away with a win. Go Bulls!
MartyMondays - January 29, 2012 via mobile
I was kinda hoping for some craziness
Like busting out a zone against Miami’s small unit. With Asik and Noah on the blocks and Gibson at the free throw line. Sure, the offense would have been clogged, but Miami would have trouble rebounding and getting inside.
chowder - January 29, 2012
freakin P.I,M
calling us out on us tlaking about not having deng, so they suggest, “well we didnt have wade then….” cuz wade played a bad game…..right……in that case, we didnt have RIP either cuz he had a bad game, and we didnt have booz…..fuck never mind, thats probably as good as boozer gets in this series….
piccolomair - January 29, 2012
wait, he wasnt that bad the last heat and bulsl series
i remember he was avg around 15 ppg, no?
Geo4MVP - January 29, 2012
Rose missed 2 free throws, he never misses free throws.

not realy worried about this team. Though boozer is pissing me off, might as well use him off the bench.

trig - January 29, 2012
Some reason
is called Hinrich, Bogans, Hamilton and Brewer
poker_punker - January 29, 2012
Well, he did have 33 in that game last year when he and Rose were dueling with back and forth threes, I believe that was the game Kyle won for us
But yeah…he’s been pretty mediocre against us.
Locust_Inferno_666 - January 29, 2012
He was bailed out by the refs on a couple plays, again.
BullsFan22 - January 29, 2012
we really need Rip and Deng
you need to space the floor and hit jumpshots vs Miami. One perimeter player that can’t hit the open J, they will trap you like hell. Rip can run around all he want but with them ignoring Brewer in the perimeter, he’ll get trapped all the time
trig - January 29, 2012
Yeah
Having Korver as our only reliable 3 point shooter is tough considering our best player relies on so many drives to the basket.
RogersPark Kris - January 29, 2012
Korver did OK
the problem is he can only play when either lebron or wade is on the bench
trig - January 29, 2012
For a good defensive team, we gave up a lot of layups and dunks.
Yeah, yeah, I know the Heat in general produce a lot of layups, dunks and alleys, but tonight they went to the line 40 TIMES!!!
BullsFan22 - January 29, 2012
breathing on a heat player is now considered a foul
farting on them is now a technical
jesus christos - January 29, 2012
that just made me think of the non-flagrant
when Anthony tackled Brewer by the head
Basketball Smurf - January 29, 2012
it wasn't even that
it was the pulldown. i didn’t see it as a dirty play, but then he forced him to the floor. unnecessary.
Jaina - January 29, 2012
yeah it seemed like a pretty textbook flagrant.
obnoxious american - January 29, 2012
make the same foul on lebron and you'll prob get suspended
trig - January 29, 2012
yep
obnoxious american - January 29, 2012
do that to lebron and the refs will automatically decide the heat the winners of the game
jesus christos - January 29, 2012
i could have sworn they had already
…never mind
piccolomair - January 29, 2012
game ends right then and there
they don’t drag it out and make it more painful than it should be
jesus christos - January 29, 2012
That was such fucking bullshit.
Joel Anthony has the worst hands in the NBA but somehow has the ability to grab onto Brewer’s face.
Ozzie Montana - January 29, 2012
Yeah, what the hell was that?
Locust_Inferno_666 - January 29, 2012
LOL. So true!
BullsFan22 - January 29, 2012
LMAO.
RED_BULL - January 29, 2012
I hate that you can tell it's a flop based on a still picture
jrobulls - January 29, 2012
Locust_Inferno_666 - January 29, 2012
Should Taj start instead of Boozer?
BullsFan22 - January 29, 2012
No, and he won't
Juiceboxjerry - January 29, 2012
here we go again!
callin dakoose and dils!
Geo4MVP - January 29, 2012
Well, I guess that takes care of that! LOL
BullsFan22 - January 29, 2012
no but he deserves more minutes
boozer = bogans..both got too much limitations
Belize - January 29, 2012
If Deng is healthy, I say yes.
More scoring to the second squad.
More minutes for Taj, who when you factor in defense, is the more productive player.
wordtrey - January 29, 2012
Of course he should but It doesn't really matter because he still has to play at some point
Hell even I’m exhausted with this Boozer crap. I don’t need any more discussion to prove the point that we have a 80 million dollar player that can’t be effective against the one team stopping us from a title. It’s the silliest bullshit I’ve ever see. Any conversation about what he does well against bad teams or a few rare timely shots he hits at the end of games is really moot. He doesn’t perform when needed most. Honestly, we’d be better off with Kurt Thomas on this team than Carlos Boozer.
Dils - January 29, 2012
The thing with only two out of the three Heat players playing well is not a mystery
These are high usage guys that need the ball in their hands to be effective. it’s why I still think the Heat are worse with Wade. Wade might help them on the break or whatever, but I feel a lot safer having him on the floor as a release valve for lebron than a guy that can catch and shoot
Juiceboxjerry - January 29, 2012
the combination of Wade and Lebron
is what makes them a great transition team and great defensive team, especially on the perimeter. Add in Wade’s ability to get to the foul line and play in the 4th and you now are talking about an all time great team.
Basketball Smurf - January 29, 2012
not that I think they are an all time great team
but the 2 together is what makes them a match up nightmare
Basketball Smurf - January 29, 2012
The problem is, with wade on the floor
he gets a ton of calls, causing foul trouble on guys like Noah. He can also hit the big shot
trig - January 29, 2012
wade scares me
because he always seems to make the best basketball play, he always gets that extra gear to make a move for a loose ball, a steal, or just draw a foul…..honest to god, i dont care what the numbers say for him or lebron, its wade that scares the hell out of me.
piccolomair - January 29, 2012
That's exactly it
And the Heat just flop so well if they know they don’t have a shot because they know they’ll get a call. Most of the time, I think its anticipation calls. That’s why I get so worried when we try guarding Wade or Lebron on a fast break because all you have to do is touch them and they get an automatic foul.
Saukrates - January 29, 2012
This is an issue solely with Chicago because they have the personnel to render one of them irrelevant.
It’s not an issue against 29 other teams.
Ozzie Montana - January 29, 2012
Check their record with and without him this year
Juiceboxjerry - January 29, 2012
And what's Chicago's record and ORtg without Rose this year?
Ozzie Montana - January 29, 2012
i agree with you jbj
the Heat when they go Chalmers, Miller, James, Bosh, Haslem. scares me more than when Wade is on the floor. He does however always seem to make a big 4th quarter play but that’s just his makeup as an x champion.
MartyMondays - January 29, 2012
Without Wade they're just a regular, boring halfcourt team with a bunch of average role players who get hot and cold.
Ozzie Montana - January 29, 2012
I know ripping Lebron is the thing to do, but publically he's always very complimentary of Rose, which is a very stand-up move:
Juiceboxjerry - January 29, 2012
maybe it's just my bias
but anything that comes out of him seems completely phony.
obnoxious american - January 29, 2012
idk, I dislike him for all his prancing and bullshit, but I think he's very respectful in that regard

No worries guys, we'll win the next game vs the Heat.
I think with our full and healthy squad we can easily beat their full and healthy squad. We know what’s like to play them during the regular season and the playoffs, and I am sure Thibodeau will get the ready next time. Wizards are next=easy win.
BullsFan22 - January 29, 2012

dp8292 - January 29, 2012
real talk
should we try and go for jr smith when he’s eligible? not to replace rip but for a better option off the bench
shutupdrogba - January 29, 2012
to be fair
dude has been getting inconsistent play time with his groin injuries and what not. I mean he hasnt practiced, got on a plane, was a game time decision and played…..thats just hard to do. He missed a shit load of shots he never normally would have….namely, the damn free throws, hes one of the best there is, and you only get better the longer you are in the league…but he missed some himself
piccolomair - January 29, 2012
yeah Rip was a gametime decision
he manned up and played, his shot wasn’t dropping but he didn’t let it effect his defense. I’m proud of him and i can confidently say that without him we would have done much worse.
MartyMondays - January 29, 2012
one thing i liked was that he was aggressive
plus if brewer was ready for that pass at the 3 pt line (which was a bad pass but still catchable) we could have had the game in the bag
Belize - January 29, 2012
without that 2nd shot creator, it will be tough to beat miami
after the initial trap, we don’t have a 2nd guy that can attack the basket. Rip is nice on pindowns, hitting the mid J, passing. But he is not an iso guy. Unless Brewer, Boozer hits their jumpshots, it will be a grind it out game.
The closest thing I saw was Taj putting it on the floor and attacking the rim
trig - January 29, 2012
ur forgetting how valuable deng is..
him and rip will force miami to play man to man with limited double team
Geo4MVP - January 29, 2012
yeah I mentioned earlier during the game
Rip is struggling because they are ignoring Brewer in the perimeter and trapping Drose and Rip. Pretty much how they ignored bogans and trapped Deng and Drose.
In order to beat them in a 7 game series, Deng needs to hit the corner 3, Boozer needs to hit that jumpshot to open up for Drose and Rip
