they are talking about the Howard-O'Neal beef during the Lakers-Magic game
Its stupid that Howard stole O’Neal’s nickname and swag considering they started their careers in the exact same place, but Shaq saying Bynum is better imo because he as beef with Howard should disqualify him as an analyst. I mean its one thing to have dumb opinions. Its another thing to have dumb opinions because you still have bias towards players in the NBA. Mostly I just want to get Shaq fired… or on ESPN.
I am really excited to see Noah again. This was the first old Noah game—sure he’s had some similar stat lines, but today was the first game this yr where Noah was all over the place
“Rose could never drive to the hoop like Mike James”
“Lucas is a better ballhandler than Derrick”
“Rose is soft. He needs to play while hurt like Rip and CJ”
everything but 4 million comes off the books in two years, they got a great point guard, verajao, as annoying as he is, is still a solid big man, they just need to overpay for some stars, which they can, and they are back to being competetive, its a nice rebuild, and they probably have a high pick this year. I say in 4 years they are back to being a perenial playoffs team
that d’antoni screwing the bulls is the SOLE reason we won the lottery that year. 1.7% my ass, knicks had the worst record, bulls had 9th worst record, d’antoni screwed us over, stern didnt like how he played it, jr tattled….wham….we got rose and d’antoni got….
def cardio problems...biggest mistake i think he made was rather than doing cardio, he did more of skeletal resistance exercises
puts too much stress on the heart and this is the reason why alot of body builders tend to have mediocre stamina…focus way too much on bulk rather than endurance.
If all they run is isolation sets why start the season with D’Antoni? Why didn’t they just make a run for Mike Brown or some other defensive-minded guy who could have at least made some semblance of an effort to fix that area of the game?
After that the next tier – Philly, San Antonio, Denver, Portland, Clippers, Orlando, Memphis, Dallas, Lakers, maybe Indy -has more western teams. I don’t think Boston or Milwaukee will ever be anything but a quick 1st round out. NY is still up in the air – will see what Baron can do.
Plus I think 5 of the 6 worst teams in the league are in the East.
I don’t think I’ve ever watched a game where this dude has just taken over, yet people continue to rave. I really want to like him more than I do, but I just don’t see it
VERY solid, helpful player, but if the Wolves are planning on building their team around him, they’re fucked. People that compare him to Dirk in terms of jump shooting big men, have never watched Dirk play. It’s an insult.
Are you guys crazy? The only thing they got in common is skin color. Miller’s best year was 14 and 10. Kevin Love is putting up historic numbers. Talk about insulting
Comparing him to Brad Miller is just bullshit. I Love it though, Love numbers are Hollow but Boozer’s numbers are impactful and an indication of a good year.
but you are right, its insulting to brad miller, he was twice the defender love is, and was a lat more impactful in games. Loves rebounds boggle me, im gonna sit and count his rebounds, but i bet theres a bunch of taps to himself that get counted as well
I don't know why Love playing on a shit team is to his detriment
It’s not like he’s some volume shooter gunning for 25 ppg or something. Putting up historic numbers at his position is to his credit. Hell if that’s the case hold it against Wilt for averaging his numbers in his time because he was able to be that dominant.
Griffith is overrated and a TERRIBLE defender and he hasn’t shown much of a postup game himself. Whether you’re dunking or laying it up, it’s 2 points
We’re talking about Love and Griffith. I don’t know what makes Griffith more impactful. He sucks on defense, lacks a great post game, and isn’t stranger to bad shot selections including long 2s. Meanwhile Love is close to a 40% 3pt shooter. So what makes Griffith so much better that it’s laughable to compare?
First of all, you keep calling him "Griffith", lol. It's GRIFFIN.
You keep comparing Love and Griffin by saying “Griffin sucks defensively”, you need to stop that because they BOTH suck, therefore it’s irrelevant. Second, he has a better post game than Love. Third, he might be more raw, but he draws about ten times the attention of the other teams’ defense that Love does. Love cannot create his own shot. He is a very good set shooter for his position, ans is also a very good rebounder, but that does not make you a great player.
Statistically, I’m gonna lose this argument, because statistically, he’s been great. So I can’t even go there. You may call it a straw man argument, and I understand that, but I just don’t think he effects winning. You put him on the Bulls and he’d be a jump shooting role player that doesn’t play defense.
One more thing I left out about Love and “Griffin” lol. When the game is on the line… Give me the guys that I can depend on at the line. One guy shoots 82% and another shoots 62%. That stat alone can be the tie breaker in this discussion
i don’t know what you guys want out of a post game. Love is a worse defender than Blake. At least Blake is guarding Love, Love always takes the weakest player. Blake can be a go to scorer at the end of games, Love hasn’t shown that ability yet.
fair enough, last year Blake was flying in for the dunks which prevented him from being in the post more often lol, but he has all the ability and size and as you say is getting it done tonight down low
irving is a really good scoring pg. Rubio is your classic pass first guy. I think the ability to penetrate and finish is the most important thing for a guard, so I guess I have to take Irving. its close
to Brad damn Miller. That’s ridiculous. I’m tired of Love not getting his props because he isn’t dunking on anyone. At this time Barkley is his closest comp and no one wants to say it.
I think you are seriously underestimating how good brad miller was
and they definetly had the same type of game. There is nothing that kevin love does that brad miller didnt do, yet there is something brad miller did that kevin love doesnt do. both are great catch and shoot guys who can extend beyond the 3pt line, both were fairly unathletic yet were constantly good rebounders, both are great passers not just out of the post but in general, both were limited ball handlers yet found ways to get to the rim for scoring without posting up…….
Kevin love gets 4 more touches per game per 36 than kevin love does, and shoots more 3s than brad miller did in his all star years, and that explains the higher ppg….i cant explain kloves rebounding, but honestly id like to see someone explain it to me, how he gets 20 boards so quickly baffles me, cuz i dont see that many boards brought down by him but stats say otherwise. Tips to himself? maybe….
Brad miller was far grittier and a better defender though,
Look I remember Brad Miller as well and I remember him in his days as a Bull and King so I’m well aware that he was a solid player and an All-Star but what part of Brad Miller’s game was putting up 25 and 14 and shooting 40% from the freethrow line?
Also why are you devaluing Love’s rebounds?
tips to himself? maybe…
Come on. He’s getting those boards because he’s where he’s suppose to be on the floor. That’s not a fluke, that’s to his credit. I know Love isn’t a great defender but let’s not make Brad Miller Omer Asik either. Also it’s not his fault Miller didn’t shoot more 3s or wasn’t good enough to shoot as many 3s for the benefit of his team. That’s also a credit to Love. Miller’s His best 3pt% year was when he shot 46% and that was on only 43 attempts.
I just think that there are a bunch of players you can compare Kevin Love to before you get to Brad Miller. Again the dude is putting up 25 and 14 while shooting 40% from 3pt land and 46% shooter overall. Also while being over 80% at the freethrow line. The guy has gotten better every year he’s been in the league. I know it’s a mystery how he’s doing it for some but the numbers are real. Those are Barkley/Malone type of numbers. They just are.
i dont think you can compare a player to another player
on strictly numbers, i think thats absurd. I think you have to compare the style of play as well, maybe more so. And maybe there is a better comparison out there, but malone? Charles? thats insanity. The three players definetly did not share the same game, there is no way kevin love comes to having the same sort of load offensively and defensively as those two, so drawing comparisons between them is insane.
Im not saying kevin love is not a good player, but you are making it sound like hes on the verge of being like a top 10 power forward of all time or something, and no….kevin love is nowhere near that level.
For some reason i thought he was averaging 20 plus rebounds a game, and so i was saying that was like impossible, and i was right. 14 rebounds, thats realistic, and yea its still amazing and he deserves his props for that, but just cuz he can get 15 rebounds per game suddenly hes karl malone or charles barkley?
Brad Miller might not be the right comparison, but its a hellava lot closer than chuck

patagonia - January 20, 2012
it really looks like he was just out of shape
i was worried something more serious was going on
bobslob - January 20, 2012
def cardio problems...biggest mistake i think he made was rather than doing cardio, he did more of skeletal resistance exercises
puts too much stress on the heart and this is the reason why alot of body builders tend to have mediocre stamina…focus way too much on bulk rather than endurance.
Geo4MVP - January 20, 2012
The Cavs are the 7th seed in the East.
Ok then.
Ozzie Montana - January 20, 2012

Juiceboxjerry - January 20, 2012

Knicks. Easy.
Juiceboxjerry - January 20, 2012

yea they cant blame their suckage on father time
they suck cuz they decided they liked having a ton of big names and feeling entitled
piccolomair - January 20, 2012
yeah the celtic fans knew this was coming
and i’d imagine the laker fans see the beginning of the end.
those smug new york fucks never knew what hit em
obnoxious american - January 20, 2012
Their offense is brutal to watch.
If all they run is isolation sets why start the season with D’Antoni? Why didn’t they just make a run for Mike Brown or some other defensive-minded guy who could have at least made some semblance of an effort to fix that area of the game?
Ozzie Montana - January 20, 2012
Also I'm sure Boozer will get no props but there were times he wouldn't even look good against garbage teams.
So this is a welcome sign.

Juiceboxjerry - January 20, 2012
People keep saying the East sucks, yet the Bulls are 14-3, and there are 5 teams within 3 games of us
Juiceboxjerry - January 20, 2012
This year the West is the "Least-ern" conference
Big illinoize - January 20, 2012
On the otherhand the Cavs are the 7th seed
tuluse - January 20, 2012
wow. that's weird.
Sandberg's evil twin - January 20, 2012
yeah, but really, who gives a shit about the 7th and 8th seed?
Congratulations to the West, your first round series’ will be slightly more competitive.
Juiceboxjerry - January 20, 2012
slightly more competitive?
Dallas is the 9 seed in the west right now. Last year the #8 seed in the West beat the #1 seed.
Basketball Smurf - January 20, 2012
Dallas will not finish as a 7th or 8th seed
Do you think the West is a tougher conference?
Juiceboxjerry - January 20, 2012
mavs will finish 5th or 6th
they will make a big comeback and i think cuban will make a move in the midseason
Geo4MVP - January 20, 2012
i think there are 3 really good teams
OKC, Chicago and Miami.
Basketball Smurf - January 20, 2012
basically I think there are 8 Western teams
who can make a legit case they should be in the 2nd round. I don’t think the East has the same depth.
Basketball Smurf - January 20, 2012
Also, Milwaukee or the Knicks or Celtics will get better and make those seeds look better
Juiceboxjerry - January 20, 2012
I sense almost no homerism from GS announcers
Have I been corrupted by Stacey King for expecting any?
Big illinoize - January 20, 2012
I've heard them call Monte Ellis the fastest man in the NBA
In another game.
tuluse - January 20, 2012
Good God, is that really the final score
mjtig - January 20, 2012
nah, i was playing nba 2k11 on veteran mode
and was making boozer looking like an all star and watson like the MVP
Geo4MVP - January 20, 2012
hehe the funny thing is that would really come out about the same!
Sandberg's evil twin - January 20, 2012
lol true enough
mjtig - January 20, 2012
As long as Taj's sprained ankle doesn't hold him out long I'll enjoy this.
Otherwise it’s just one small W that happened when he got injured. geez this season is gonna be a MASH unit for the entire league.
Sandberg's evil twin - January 20, 2012
yeah, hope Wade can get healthy. It is nice actually having Miller and Udonis healthy atm...
things with Miller can change at a moments notice though with him flying around all the time
mjtig - January 20, 2012
Minnesota very quietly making this one competitive again
Big illinoize - January 20, 2012
Where is Kevin Love in this game?
I don’t think I’ve ever watched a game where this dude has just taken over, yet people continue to rave. I really want to like him more than I do, but I just don’t see it
Juiceboxjerry - January 20, 2012
In college he never had any kind of post game--it was all perimeter and some driving but not a whole lot...
have not seen much of him in the NBA. He gets a lot of rebounds (is tough) and points but he has always been on a terrible team. I’m skeptical also.
mjtig - January 20, 2012
To me, he's in that Luol Deng tier of players
VERY solid, helpful player, but if the Wolves are planning on building their team around him, they’re fucked. People that compare him to Dirk in terms of jump shooting big men, have never watched Dirk play. It’s an insult.
Juiceboxjerry - January 20, 2012
hes this generations brad miller
piccolomair - January 20, 2012
good comparison. Miller was tough and could mix it up (get boards) and could hit that jumper also
mjtig - January 20, 2012
Brad Miller?
Are you guys crazy? The only thing they got in common is skin color. Miller’s best year was 14 and 10. Kevin Love is putting up historic numbers. Talk about insulting
Dils - January 20, 2012
Calling his numbers historic is an insult to history
His teams have SUCKED. He just doesn’t have much of an effect on winning games. The numbers are hollow.
Juiceboxjerry - January 20, 2012
No calling his numbers historic is the truth
Comparing him to Brad Miller is just bullshit. I Love it though, Love numbers are Hollow but Boozer’s numbers are impactful and an indication of a good year.
Dils - January 20, 2012
I didn't say Love sucked, and I didn't say Boozer was better either
My argument has always been that Boozer is not a problem, like some have made him out to be. Love wouldn’t be a problem either
Juiceboxjerry - January 20, 2012
brad miller was once an all star
but you are right, its insulting to brad miller, he was twice the defender love is, and was a lat more impactful in games. Loves rebounds boggle me, im gonna sit and count his rebounds, but i bet theres a bunch of taps to himself that get counted as well
piccolomair - January 20, 2012
yeah, Dirk has that solid post game now aided by that height and hard to block shot...
he is looking to take it to the rim also these days—when he has it going, very very tough to guard.
mjtig - January 20, 2012
needs to develop a post up game in the offseason
hes still very young, i think he can improve
Geo4MVP - January 20, 2012
Yet he's making history as we speak
I see what he brings. It’s rebounding and scoring. It doesn’t have to be apparent to be effective. He’s the best player on the floor tonight
Dils - January 20, 2012
Wow, really?
Juiceboxjerry - January 20, 2012
Yeah really.
Dils - January 20, 2012
Blake Griffin is better than Kevin Love, and in about a year or two, I doubt it will be close
Love can keep gobbling up rebounds and shooting set jumpers on a shit team all he wants
Juiceboxjerry - January 20, 2012
I don't know why Love playing on a shit team is to his detriment
It’s not like he’s some volume shooter gunning for 25 ppg or something. Putting up historic numbers at his position is to his credit. Hell if that’s the case hold it against Wilt for averaging his numbers in his time because he was able to be that dominant.
Griffith is overrated and a TERRIBLE defender and he hasn’t shown much of a postup game himself. Whether you’re dunking or laying it up, it’s 2 points
Dils - January 20, 2012
Yeah, cause Love is an amazing defender. He’s horrible too.
Juiceboxjerry - January 20, 2012
I never claimed he was
But you’re the one saying that Griffith is the better player. Well based on what exactly?
Dils - January 20, 2012
Everything he does on the floor is more impactful
Statistically, yeah Love is better at the moment. But he’s also better statistically than Derrick Rose. You wanna make that trade?
Juiceboxjerry - January 20, 2012
That's a strawman so cut it out
We’re talking about Love and Griffith. I don’t know what makes Griffith more impactful. He sucks on defense, lacks a great post game, and isn’t stranger to bad shot selections including long 2s. Meanwhile Love is close to a 40% 3pt shooter. So what makes Griffith so much better that it’s laughable to compare?
Dils - January 20, 2012
Juiceboxjerry - January 21, 2012
We talk about impact
One more thing I left out about Love and “Griffin” lol. When the game is on the line… Give me the guys that I can depend on at the line. One guy shoots 82% and another shoots 62%. That stat alone can be the tie breaker in this discussion
Dils - January 21, 2012
Blake is killing people in the post in this game
i don’t know what you guys want out of a post game. Love is a worse defender than Blake. At least Blake is guarding Love, Love always takes the weakest player. Blake can be a go to scorer at the end of games, Love hasn’t shown that ability yet.
Basketball Smurf - January 20, 2012
killing may be a slight exaggeration
but he has shown a few post moves. More than Love
Basketball Smurf - January 20, 2012
fair enough, last year Blake was flying in for the dunks which prevented him from being in the post more often lol, but he has all the ability and size and as you say is getting it done tonight down low
mjtig - January 20, 2012
They both have pretty big holes in their offensive games.
But it’ll be easier for Griffin to develop a jumper and finesse game. Neither one will ever be a good defender.
Ozzie Montana - January 20, 2012
Agreed. Blake has the upside--he needs to develop a better post game...
but he already has some of that and is an great athlete. Not sure about his midrange jumper—from the little I’ve seen he needs to work on that also.
mjtig - January 20, 2012
he just need a better coach, lmao
he needs a solid coach…he has all the tools to become a superstar.
Geo4MVP - January 20, 2012
LOL, you are right, about the coach most likely also
mjtig - January 20, 2012
yup, with jerry sloan, that team will be scary
Geo4MVP - January 20, 2012
agreed
mjtig - January 20, 2012
He's got another double-double in the 3rdQ...
on the other hand lil Ricky’s 0 for 7
Big illinoize - January 20, 2012
Darko's got 18? Could he always do that?
Big illinoize - January 20, 2012
Wow, George Hill picks Monta's pocket and gets the go ahead layup with 1.8 left
and 1
Big illinoize - January 20, 2012
looks like a missed kick ball
crap way to it end it.
Big illinoize - January 20, 2012
Pekovich has some post moves, nice shot there 8-0 run without Love
mjtig - January 20, 2012
Ricky bailed there, travel
mjtig - January 20, 2012
Mo Williams with 2 techs and he's gone
Big illinoize - January 20, 2012
a lot of bs, dumb foul call, Ricky slipped and traveled
mjtig - January 20, 2012
ugh, i can see him becoming a pest like Divac
Geo4MVP - January 20, 2012
yeah, Europeans, what are you going to do
mjtig - January 21, 2012
For some reason
I’ll never get over how much VDN never looks like he has any clue what he’s doing out there… ever. It still amazes me.
bryield - January 20, 2012
please Adelman, watch some tape of Williams at Arizona
he would kill Griffin in the post, off the dribble, he makes mistakes.
Basketball Smurf - January 21, 2012
I wonder if Ricky will score in this game..
Big illinoize - January 21, 2012
fail, he's 3-4 at the line
Big illinoize - January 21, 2012
nice play by Blake, good finish
mjtig - January 21, 2012
well bad ft attempt. Barely hit the rim
mjtig - January 21, 2012
Hubie yelling at Darko for not keeping his hands up on the pass
RogersPark Kris - January 21, 2012
I give it to Rubio, at least he is attacking the rim, got to the line
mjtig - January 21, 2012
and again, not hesitation, right to the rim
mjtig - January 21, 2012
So DWill will only stay with New Jersey if they sign Dwight !?
RogersPark Kris - January 21, 2012
Its interesting how quickly an owner who knows how to treat players
can change the culture of a team.
The Mavs were dead in the water and no superstar wanted to go there.
Cuban comes in and does a complete 180 with that team.
Now, every superstar puts the Mavericks as one of their choices.
RogersPark Kris - January 21, 2012
good post work by Blake again. good spin move and got the foul
mjtig - January 21, 2012
You see what Griffin is doing? Where's Love in all this?
Juiceboxjerry - January 21, 2012
Griffin's the all-star
Love, not yet
Big illinoize - January 21, 2012
not too much
mjtig - January 21, 2012
but Rubio is going right to the rim on every possession also lol.
mjtig - January 21, 2012
nice feed
mjtig - January 21, 2012
What missing freethrows
and turning the ball over?
Dils - January 21, 2012
You're right, Love is running back and forth down the court not hurting his team at all, expertly
Juiceboxjerry - January 21, 2012
His last rebound just help lead to their last 2 points
Dils - January 21, 2012
Basically every other PF in the league gets that rebound
Juiceboxjerry - January 21, 2012
Might wanna guard Chauncey
Big illinoize - January 21, 2012
Rubio can make those bounce pases in his sleep
RogersPark Kris - January 21, 2012
Darko can only be contained lol
mjtig - January 21, 2012
22 points not to bad
mjtig - January 21, 2012
Who is suppose to be guarding that guy??
Dils - January 21, 2012
I have no idea--just tuned in, but Blake now that you asked i'm guessing.
mjtig - January 21, 2012
no Jordan
Blake is guarding Love
Basketball Smurf - January 21, 2012
As crazy as it sounds
Darko looks good running the p n r with Rubio
RogersPark Kris - January 21, 2012
yeah
mjtig - January 21, 2012
Rubio is making Milicic look worthy of the #2 pick. lol
Dils - January 21, 2012
this is a pretty great game
good players and enough bad defense to make sure neither team is out of it
Basketball Smurf - January 21, 2012
Hubie getting a little too excited ...
lexmarklover - January 21, 2012
lol
RogersPark Kris - January 21, 2012
america loves hubie brown!
Basketball Smurf - January 21, 2012
Darko's just too much for DeAndre Jordan right now
Big illinoize - January 21, 2012
Anyone else think that old guy at the bar in that beer commercial sounds like a pedo when he says "My cute neighbor Sara"?
Juiceboxjerry - January 21, 2012
Weak foul there
Big illinoize - January 21, 2012
Man, Monta Ellis fucked up
How you gonna turn the ball over like that when your team has the last shot. SMH
Juiceboxjerry - January 21, 2012
Hill kicked the ball
officials missed it
Big illinoize - January 21, 2012
Still..
Juiceboxjerry - January 21, 2012
kinda weak call
But Rubio should have just gave up the jumper
RogersPark Kris - January 21, 2012
LOVE!
Juiceboxjerry - January 21, 2012
good passing there, would not go down for Love, good shot attempt
mjtig - January 21, 2012
Bad news for the wolves
Darko out
Big illinoize - January 21, 2012
Blake to the rim again
mjtig - January 21, 2012
labrick
occubull - January 21, 2012
Gotta be a factor on the court late in games instead of a detriment
MAKE YOUR FREETHROWS BLAKE
Dils - January 21, 2012
yep
mjtig - January 21, 2012
Missed the game
How did Irving look?
And would you rate him over Rubio?
RogersPark Kris - January 21, 2012
Looked really good to start, but we Kung Fu'd their ass and he really couldn't do much about it
Personally, I’d take him over Rubio, but I’m sure opinions will vary wildly
Juiceboxjerry - January 21, 2012
No Cav looked good in that one
Big illinoize - January 21, 2012
tough call
irving is a really good scoring pg. Rubio is your classic pass first guy. I think the ability to penetrate and finish is the most important thing for a guard, so I guess I have to take Irving. its close
Basketball Smurf - January 21, 2012
RUBIOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Juiceboxjerry - January 21, 2012
He's a beast
Dils - January 21, 2012
Very fun to watch
Juiceboxjerry - January 21, 2012
has looked impressive in the fourth offensively, going right to the rim and set up Darko a couple of times also
mjtig - January 21, 2012
Rubio hits his first basket!!!!
Big illinoize - January 21, 2012
BOOM!! Ricky 0-10, no problem
mjtig - January 21, 2012
rubio bubble head!!!
occubull - January 21, 2012
i'm pushing the buffalo wild wings button
no worries. we will get OT!
Basketball Smurf - January 21, 2012
hehe, Rubio on D now lol
mjtig - January 21, 2012
Defensive stop by ricky
Big illinoize - January 21, 2012
Good defensive play
RogersPark Kris - January 21, 2012
Big rebound by Love to give his
team a chance to win it. It’s the little things sometime. 15 rebs by the way.
Dils - January 21, 2012
If Love hits a game winner, I'm bolting from my cpu to avoid Dils' smack talk
Juiceboxjerry - January 21, 2012
Yeah because the great Blake could have iced this at the line
LOL!
Dils - January 21, 2012
if Rubio hits it, there may be a power struggle on the Wolves lol
mjtig - January 21, 2012
oh shit!!!!!!!!!!
Basketball Smurf - January 21, 2012
ROFL
mjtig - January 21, 2012

I just spit up more Beer lololol
mjtig - January 21, 2012
That was waay out there
RogersPark Kris - January 21, 2012
I don't want to have this argument anymore
2 HUGE rebounds to help set up his game winning shot while Blake couldn’t hit a damn freethrow. Love is better…PERIOD
Dils - January 21, 2012
LOL at K Loves reaction!!!!
mjtig - January 21, 2012
the Clips just got Del Negro'd!!!!!!
he hasn’t figured out handle to guard a double pick in 3 1/2 years of coaching
Basketball Smurf - January 21, 2012
Well, at least he now has Chris Paul to help coach the team
bryield - January 21, 2012
Can we start calling Ricky
a “force of competitive nature”?
Big illinoize - January 21, 2012
They're defense was so bad
Never once did a guy slide over to stop Rubio’s penetration, and they routinely got pulled out of position and just looked lost.
tuluse - January 21, 2012
Minny's defense is often pretty atrocious
but they sure are fun to watch.
bryield - January 21, 2012
Kevin Love's comp isn't Brad Miller
It’s Charles Barkley. Now that is a fairer comparison.
Dils - January 21, 2012
He's not as athletic as Charles was
But they both are relentless on the glass and run the break well.
Hes def a better shooter than Charles was.
RogersPark Kris - January 21, 2012
what?
how? barkley could dribble, he could post up and score in a VARIETY of ways. He could create shots for himself, HE COULD DEFEND BETTER,
piccolomair - January 21, 2012
That comparison is closer to comparing him
to Brad damn Miller. That’s ridiculous. I’m tired of Love not getting his props because he isn’t dunking on anyone. At this time Barkley is his closest comp and no one wants to say it.
Dils - January 21, 2012
Tips to himself? maybe….
Brad miller was far grittier and a better defender though,
piccolomair - January 21, 2012
Piccolomair...Really?
Look I remember Brad Miller as well and I remember him in his days as a Bull and King so I’m well aware that he was a solid player and an All-Star but what part of Brad Miller’s game was putting up 25 and 14 and shooting 40% from the freethrow line?
Also why are you devaluing Love’s rebounds?
I just think that there are a bunch of players you can compare Kevin Love to before you get to Brad Miller. Again the dude is putting up 25 and 14 while shooting 40% from 3pt land and 46% shooter overall. Also while being over 80% at the freethrow line. The guy has gotten better every year he’s been in the league. I know it’s a mystery how he’s doing it for some but the numbers are real. Those are Barkley/Malone type of numbers. They just are.
Dils - January 21, 2012
i dont think you can compare a player to another player
on strictly numbers, i think thats absurd.
Brad Miller might not be the right comparison, but its a hellava lot closer than chuck
piccolomair - January 21, 2012
When I watch Love
I think of no one else BUT Brad Miller. Like you said. Their styles are so similar
T.Moore - January 21, 2012
I agree Sir Charles could get it done on the block even if he was not very tall, sneaky shot blocker also
and could create his own shot as you say
mjtig - January 21, 2012
He may have hit the game winner, but you're getting delusions of grandeur
Charles is a no doubt HOFer…I don’t think it’s time to put Love in that category.
That being said, it would be awesome to see him on the Bulls. Aren’t he and Rose supposed to be friends?
hitlesswonder - January 21, 2012
Someday
I hope I don’t compare you to sin…You’re actually ok most times. lol
T.Moore - January 21, 2012
Kevin Love doesn't have 1/100th of Barkley's ballhandling or explosiveness.
Ozzie Montana - January 21, 2012
There were I think 3 offensive fouls on the game winner
I’m really getting tired of the “let them play” mentality.
tuluse - January 21, 2012
On the picks? It was hard for me to see...it did look like the MN guards used their arms
But I’m not sure I saw anything that I haven’t seen in years past….
hitlesswonder - January 21, 2012
Oh I'm sure it's routine for final plays
I just don’t like it.
tuluse - January 21, 2012
